Discount
A vision discount program is not insurance. These programs provide
a discount off of the provider’s retail fees or list the maximum
amount the member will have to pay. These programs typically offer
the following benefits:
- Vision examination
- Spectacle lenses
- Lens options like tints and coatings
- Frames
- Contact lenses
- Laser vision correction
To obtain or to maximize the benefits received
the member must go to a “network
provider." Typically most national providers of frames and lenses
as well as many local providers will be in the network. It will be
easy to find many
places to shop.
Avesis is our preferred discount program. The cost
is only $23.50 per year.
