Med Supp (Medicare Supplemental Insurance)

Medicare Part A and B pay for many health care services and supplies, but they don’t pay all of your health care costs. There are costs you must pay, such as coinsurance, copayments, and deductibles. These costs are called “gaps” in Medicare coverage.

Med Supp (Medicare Supplemental Insurance) is meant to fill in the gaps in Medicare Part A and Part B.

  • 12 standardized plans to choose from (A-L).
  • Each plan has a different set of benefits.
  • Not all carriers offer each plan.

Generally, when you buy a Medicare Supplement policy, you must have Medicare Part A and Part B. You will likely have to pay the monthly Medicare Part B premium. In addition, you will have to pay a premium to the insurance
company offering your Med Supp policy.

It is important for seniors to understand all of the options available to them so an informed decision can be made on purchasing the right coverage.
